Newport and back

The Perm version of a popular and well established Calendar ride to Newport. You can ride this any day you wish, EXCEPT when we run the Newport 200 Calendar event. For the Perm, the start has been moved to Dean Row petrol station (open 24 hours) with parking available in the nearby Deanwater layby off Woodford Road (https://what3words.com/betrayal.comforted.nets). The ride also diverts to a control at Penkridge. From the start, the route heads south through Holmes Chapel, Alsager, Woore to on the way to Newport. There are several useful cafes in Newport, including a Costa, Waitrose supermarket and the Garden Centre on the bypass. No big climbs and lots of pleasant lanes in Cheshire and Staffordshire.
