You must consult the daily ferry timetables before tackling this Perm as the Knott End ferry cannot operate at low tide. After getting across the Wyre you can enjoy a ride down the Fylde coast to Blackpool and Lytham (there's an inland alternative if you miss the ferry). A quay part of the route passes through Preston Docks before heading back over the West Pennine Moors.
