Long Mountain (160km) Perm

A great day out from Nantwich to ride the wonderful Long Mountain near Welshpool. A few laps of the car park at the end should see you get an imperial century ride out of the day. A flattish ride with the exception of two rather big hills to get over. The hills in question are in the middle of the ride. You head out to Baschurch and pass the MOD training ground at Nesscliffe, once you cross the River Severn at Crewgreen you first hill looms, there is a slight descent and you are dropped off at the bottom of Long Mountain, once on the top you can enjoy the views from the top for over 5km (hence the name Long Mountain). From here you work you way back to Nantwich via Ford (Dinkys Dinah or petrol station available), Montford Bridge, Wem and Whitchurch NOTE: The area around Crewgreen and Montford Bridge sits on the River Severn Floodplain.
