Garden of Eden

A ride through the best of the Perth hills, putting a solid amount of elevation gain into your day. Pack your granny gear and some snacks as the first 80km has no services. The first major stop is at the Waraloo general store. There is a tap outside on the wall and a true ozzy Sheila behind the counter if you want some small talk. A short hop to the next control in Mundaring where major services are available. Stop for a picture as you climb around Mundaring Weir and head through the bush into Pickering Brook. The cafe here closes early, so if you are slow up the climbs there is service available down the road at the Puma Roadhouse. Climb some more before a few km stint on Albany Hwy. It is now time to turn around and head for home. Feel the lactate in the legs as you climb through Rolleystone, saving some of the steepest bits for last. A section of Déjà vu as you head back up canning rd before finishing back at the start, conveniently at the top of a hill.
