Tarkine Traverse Raid

A 602 km Raid from Stanley down to Hobart. 438 km of sealed roads to be riiden at an average of 100 km a day, and 165 km of unsealed roads to be ridden at an average of 50 km a day. The maximum time for this Raid is 7 days, and minimum is 3 days. The ride involves two ferry crossings at Arthur River, and Corinna, which must be paid for. There is accommodation available every 100 km  or so, but Corinna is often booked out by tour groups, so ridders should be prepared to camp out in The Tarkine Wilderness. Riders can put bikes on busses from Launceston or Devonport to the start in Stanley. This rides passes through some very remote country, so riders must be aware of fire risk in high summer.
