South Central Wisconsin Gravel Max

This route combines two unpaved trails (Badger State Trail and Military Ridge State Trail) at the beginning and end of the route and includes as many unpaved roads in between those two trails. The overall amount of climbing is manageable, but most of it is packed into the middle 100 km of the route. The trails usually become rideable in mid to late April and stay open until the snow arrives. The Badger State Trail often remains wet for long times, leading to slick spots. Both trails can have sandy, soft sections and gopher holes.
