Spunky Canyon

A short loop through Santa Clarita, and then a loop up into the Sierra Pelona Mountains past the site of the St. Francis Dam, through Green Valley and past the Bouquet Reservoir, with good views of the mountains along San Francisquito and Spunky Canyon Roads. Warning: The canyons are very dry year round, and often very warm. Water is not readily available along the canyon roads. It is recommended that riders fill their water bottles before starting up San Francisquito Canyon Road. Water is available at the Iron Horse Trailhead (just before control #4) and at control #5.
