Start at either end. Return by reversing the outbound route or take the train or go touring in Wales/East Anglia, depending... Benign first 200km as far as Banbury, then through the Cotswold, Forest of Dean and the South Wales Valleys. Some 'route optimisation' possible by taking the long way round on main roads at night.
