Starting from outside Le Petit Bijou cafe in Cheadle this ride takes in the climb up Bakestonedale road more commonly know as the Brickworks, after which you climb Side End lane passing Windgather rocks on your way to Pym's Chair car park where on a clear day you have a stunning view of the Cheshire plains below. The descent towards Bollington takes you past Jenkin's Chapel and then down Blaze Hill returning to Cheadle via Prestbury. The early part of the ride uses a short section of the bike path alongside the Airport Eastern link road and passes the costa coffee shop in Poynton, the Waterside cafe in Bollington (off the route, turn right up Clarence road) is a great cafe stop. The Bakestondale e-brevet control works from the bottom for the whole length of the climb. Kickback coffee on Bakestondale road sells very good coffee and cake, check opening times as it is not open every day. Route info from rider on 24/02/26 Various parts of the A555 link road cycle path are closed by the council for drainage works between where you join on Hall Moss Lane and Woodford Road. The workmen tell us there will be disruption for about five months. In order to bypass the works, an option would be to continue along Hall Moss Lane/Moor Lane for about 1km past the link road turn off. Then turn left onto Jenny Lane, and continue to the end and turn left again at Woodford Road. Which will bring you back to the Link Road cycle path on the other side of the repair works. There is pay and display parking just near the start.
