A chance to explore the Upper Murray Region from Albury to Corryong, then climb up onto the Kosziusko National Park plateau, and down to the Nation's captital, Canberra. Murray Steamer 0 A · Ride with GPS All roads are sealed, apart from a short section of good gravel at Cudgewa, and some short sections of gravel on the Rail Trail coming into Wodonga. Under Raid Rules this Raid is to be ridden at an average of between 100 and 200 km/hr, giving a maximum of five days, and minimum of 3 days for the ride. This Raid traverses alpine territory, where weather can be extreme, even in summer. Riders must be prepared for high winds, driving rain, and extreme cold. Riders must look forward to predicted weather condtions when extecting to be riding through Thredbo before starting in Wodonga. This Raid is not available during the declared snow season. It is recommended that all riders carry a tracking device, or use a system such as Strava that is available to a contact person. There is accommodation available in all checkpoint towns, but Walwa Hotel is closed on Mondays. There are no lattes between Thredbo and Khancoban.
