Northern Pennines Grimpeur

This ride uses mainly B-roads and country lanes crossing over exceptionally high (for the UK) ground. It is inevitable that entrants will ride some of this ride at night and therefore good lighting is recommended. The ride also covers a lot of exposed ground with some severe, steep ascents and descents and riders should take exceptional care whilst crossing this terrain at night. Some of the villages that are used as controls might be dead at night and so stamps might be difficult to obtain. In these circumstances riders should post a postcard to the organiser or be a little creative when getting proof of passage.
